The Boy Who Swam with Angels

A curious boy who loves exploring, decides to check-out his desert surroundings during a family celebration. 

Teddy’s brothers couldn’t care less about “walking around in the desert,” so  he didn’t invite them along.

Nearly an hour passed before anyone noticed that he was missing…  By then he’d fallen into a situation that ruined his hopes for a perfect 4th of July.

Will Teddy find the strength and courage he needs to survive his unplanned “adventure” and Live Courageously?

This story will be told in a chapter book for young readers.

Hey everyone--this was a magical weekend...my roses didn`t disappoint! Maybe because of all the rain we`ve received, they are more fragrant, bushier, and 100`s of blooms. They only bloom all together once a year--so here it is. All of the smaller planted roses are going gangbusters as well. My "sprite`s" (yellows) are also doing well. But for today--Here`s the Red Ladies!

Recently I had the privilege of visiting the Golladay School. I`d visited this school once before--to introduce Chubbs`s story.

This time we "discussed" the highlights instead of "reading aloud." Their teacher had read them the story (all but the ending) before I got there. 📖 When I arrived, the kids were ready with thought provoking questions about Teddy`s unexpected adventure in the Salt River.

They questioned how a kid could really survive such an event... and asked "hey--is this a true story?"

As we talked, they began to recognize the miracles God provided for Teddy, I loved the amazement on their faces and in their comments when they realized that God really does show up for us...

In the photo, the kids are holding a rock from the river-- with "courage" painted on it. It is meant to remind them that because God watches over us all even when we can`t see Him,they really can Live Courageously--just like Teddy.
